History & Kangaroo Island

Empress Park owner David Huxtable based in Kangaroo Island has backed himself in retaining the first two crops from the highly talented Stallion 'Voila Ici'. A trainer with 28 years experience David saw an opportunity to breed tough racehorses in Victoria 5 years ago. David purchased the multiple group 1 winning stallion for his Kangaroo Island Stud Empress Park with the dream to breed intelligent, athletic, quick and resilient racehorses from an exceptional pedigree line. That dream has now come to fruition.

David has always been a boutique trainer who looks after a medium to small stable. With that said, his 'Voila Ici' designed breeding campaigns over the last few years have now afforded him a number of quality stock to train. Pre-'Voila Ici' he had trained horses which competed consistently at various Melbourne, Adelaide and Country race meets. His stable star was 'Empress Waltz' and has had a number of handy horses since including 'Waltzing to Win'.

Empress Park Stud was selected and designed to maximize the best nurturing properties that natures paradise 'Kangaroo Island' can offer. With the wonderful pristine beaches of Emu Bay on the studs doorstep for exercise, exciting times are ahead. The first of the 'Voila Ici' stock are due to hit the tracks shortly.

David has regular transport from the mainland toKI and welcomes mares with very reasonable agistment  & transportation rates.

David Huxtable "I am very upbeat with what I have seen and I am sure that Empress Parks's early 'Voila Ici' progeny due to start racing in late 2021 -2022 will prove themselves to be very versatile racehorses"
